Residential Floating Pontoon System
This residential project involved the design of a stable and low-maintenance floating pontoon system for a waterfront property on the Mornington Peninsula.
The new installation provides improved access to the water for recreational boating, swimming, and general waterfront use. The system was configured to respond to changing water levels while maintaining a safe and practical connection to the shoreline.
What the project needed
The property required a reliable waterfront access solution that could accommodate changing tides and exposed coastal conditions. The available installation area was limited, and the completed system needed to provide a stable walking surface without requiring a high-maintenance fixed timber structure.
How Pipefloats approached it
Pipefloats developed a modular floating pontoon system supported by durable polyethylene floats and a marine-grade aluminium frame. An aluminium gangway was incorporated to provide safe access from the shoreline, while slip-resistant FRP decking was selected for durability and reduced maintenance. The modular design allows the pontoon to move naturally with changing water levels while maintaining stability and ease of access.
